Hand to Hand Development Initiative (HHDI) is a community-based nonprofit organization operating in Uganda. Established in 2013, the organization was founded on the belief that every child deserves access to education, protection, and the opportunity to thrive in a stable environment.
We work directly with vulnerable children and families, delivering practical, community-centered programs that address immediate needs while building long-term resilience.

MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER
Hand to Hand Development Initiative was born from a simple but powerful realization that small, timely support can completely change a child’s future.
In 2013, I encountered a young boy who was repeatedly sent home from school because he lacked basic learning materials. His situation reflected my own childhood experience of struggling to remain in school due to financial hardship.
That moment shaped my commitment to ensuring that no child is denied education because of circumstances beyond their control.
Today, our work continues to grow, but the need remains significant. We remain dedicated to serving with integrity, transparency, and measurable impact. We believe that through partnership and shared responsibility, sustainable transformation is possible.
